Wedding Bells at the Del - Congrats Jordan & Kelly

Jordan is a fisherman and met Kelly on a day trip so it was only appropriate that Jordan’s Captain perform the wedding ceremony. It was one of the best ceremonies I’ve heard in a long time including a few appropriate sea faring comments. “In seasickness and in health”. The reception was in the Crown Room at the Del and it looked great…that is one impressive room! The first dance was a Brad Paisley song called “She’s Everything” and we ended the night with Donna Summers “Last Dance”. I think the newlyweds went fishing for the honeymoon!

September 22, 2007 – Jordan & Kelly Souza – The Hotel Del Coronado

Congratulations to Dan & Christina!

It was a destination wedding for Dan & Christina. They and about 75 close friends and family gathered at the Catamaran Resort for the celebration. As always the Catamaran did a fantastic job and the food is some of the best in town. The newlyweds loved a variety of music and I played everything from Timbaland and Def Leopard to Stevie Wonder and The Stones. We ended up going an extra ½ hour and it was a great Sunday Night!

Great times at the Prado - Congrats Brad & Vanessa!

Brad and Vanessa celebrated their vows at the Prado on Saturday and what a party it was! The reception was in the ballroom and in the 15 years I have worked at the Prado I have never seen it look better. Kathy Wright and Company did an amazing job and the room had an incredible vibe. Trena Lozano was the coordinator and as always she and her team made for a smooth trouble free night, Joe Stein was the photographer and I know the photos will be awesome. They really assembled a great team and it made for an outstanding celebration. The dance floor was packed all night long and Brad surprised Vanessa with a Rolls Royce to pick them up and whisk them away to the hotel at the end.

Dear Mike - What a great night it was! Thank you for providing awesome music keeping us and our guests on the dance floor all night long. You do great work and I look forward to recommending you and hopefully using you in the future.

Fun Friday!

San Diego is a great place to live...there is always something fun going on. On Friday I had a corporate event for 1400 at the Manchester Hyatt and the Red Bull air races were going on as well. I got down to the Hyatt early and met a friend to watch the races, those pilot's are amazing. Then it was up to the ballroom for an over the top corporate event. There were 1400 guests who had been in meetings most of the week and were ready to cut loose, what a great night!

Urban Campout goes Rock and Roll!

The Girl Scouts held their annual fundraiser on Friday and it was my privilege to be back as the auctioneer for the 4th year. This year was a 50’s Rock and Roll theme and everyone came dressed for the occasion. Carol LeBeau from Channel 10 was the emcee, what a nice lady and fun to work with. I’m happy to report we set a new record again this year and will be able to send about 750 girls to camp. The Hero’s provided the dance music after the auction and kept the crowd rocking right to the end. If you know anyone in need of an auctioneer don't forget Mike Hogan and Fundraisers Only!

September 14, 2007 - The Girl Scouts Urban Campout

Patrick and Laura Tie the Knot in PB!

Patrick and Laura didn’t feel a traditional reception location was their style so they found a great alternative. It was a wonderful old home in P.B. that was built in 1912 and had tons of personality. With a huge yard the ceremony and cocktail hour took place on the side yard and the reception was held in the front yard. We had a nice casual pace with an outstanding meal catered by a friend of the family that flew in from Florida. After dinner the dancing kicked in and after about 40 minutes we took a little break for cake and a video montage. There were about 80 guests in attendance and a fine time was had by all!

Frank & Sandra Celebrate in the New Ballroom at Maderas!

Madera’s has been one of my favorite golf courses since it opened, they now have a great new ballroom to go with it. A wonderful job was done with the layout and the grounds are beautiful. It was the perfect setting for Frank and Sandra’s Wedding Celebration. What a crowd, Franks Italian and Sandra is Hispanic, anytime I can play a Tarantella followed by a Merengue cut I know I have a wild time on my hands. The dance floor was packed all night. I had done Franks brothers wedding a couple of years ago and it was wonderful to see Mike, Jenn and the rest of the family again!

An Incredible Lady!

Madre Antonia and the Sisters of the 11th Hour are an incredible group that bring the gospel and hope to men and woman in Tijuana prisons. Sister Antonia has lived in the prison for the last 30 years and at 80 years old is still going strong. It’s a great charity and I was thrilled to be a part of the fundraiser again this year. There are silent auctions and some of the committee put together a couple of skits that had the crowd laughing. The last hour is dancing and they like everything from swing to top 40. It was a successful night and the sisters will be able to continue their wonderful work.

Jeff and Leslie chose the Admiral Kidd Club for their reception and with the help of Coordinator Rachel Peniche and J Design Florists the room was resplendent in Roses and looked great. We added a little uplighting as well. The view from the Admiral Kidd is one of the best in town and if you have a big group the upstairs ballroom is perfect. Both Jeff and Leslie were big dancers and spent most of the night on the dance floor with friends and family!

The Lodge at Torrey Pines was the location for Ted & Sandra’s Wedding Celebration; it’s an outstanding venue with first class food and service. Ted and Sandra were a lot of fun and spent most of the night on the dance floor with their guests. They had worked with a dance instructor and did a wonderfully choreographed first dance to the song “Two of Us” by the Beatles. Dancing with the Stars judges score’s would have been perfect 10’s across the board! Even though it was a Sunday night this group didn’t want to stop dancing and we ended up extending the evening another ½ hour!
