October 19, 2007 - Todd & Shonda Steen - The Maderas Golf Club




Another fun weekend starting off at Maderas for Todd & Shonda's reception followed on Sunday with Jess & Michele's Celebration at the Bali Hai. They opted for a Tommy Bahamas dress code and it made for a fun relaxed atmosphere. Lots of dancing at both receptions...it's been a busy year!

From the Four Seasons to The Midway in a day!

It was a busy but fun Thursday...I started the day at the Four Seasons as the emcee for an Iron Chef competition they had going on. The contestants had five different cooking stations including Sushi, Omelette's and the favorite a signature cocktail station. The winning team walked away with a blue ribbon and everyone had a blast!
The event at the Four Seasons was done by 2:30 and then I headed for downtown. I had an event on the Midway providing the music for an corporate group on the USS Midway. It is one of my all time favorite venues and a favorite for guests. We had docent tours and buffet stations followed by a couple hours of dancing before they headed back to the hotel.

Weekends and Weddings!

East meets West at Chris and Eva's Wedding Celebration. They met in Mexico City while Chris was there on business for a couple of years. He ended up being transferred to Wisconsin and they continued with a 3 year long distance romance. It all worked out great as they tied the know at the San Diego Marriott. Most of Chris's family came from New Jersey where he grew up and Eva's family came in from Mexico City. The two cultures melded wonderfully and a great time was had!

It was a wild night at Paradise Point as Paul and Dominique had a crowd that came to dance. I ended up going 1 1/2 hours Overtime and had a blast. It was a big night for the 80's and I got to mix some tunes that I hadn't played in a while. "Buffalo Stance" by Neenah Cherry and "In My House" by the Mary Jane Girls were the 2 sleeper hits of the night. It was good times and the newlyweds were off to Aruba for the honeymoon!

Wild Times at the Wavehouse!

I was at the Wavehouse on Tuesday for a corporate team building event. It was blue skies, sunshine and good times for all! Above are a few photos of some of the events taking place on the beach.

A Busy Month for San Diego Weddings!

It's been a crazy month but I wanted to put a few photos up from some great weddings. Kristy and Blair had their celebration at the Museum of Photographic Art in La Jolla and it was a blast. Merilee Norman was the coordinator and did a great job as always. Entertainment at Large provided the up lighting and Haydee's Florist did a beautiful job with the florals.

On Saturday I was at the Catamaran for Darin & Amber's Reception. It was a daytime affair but you'd never know it by the dance floor. Annamarie was Amber's Maid of Honor and gave one of the best toasts I've ever heard. She changed into the lovely dress above and jokingly told everyone that it was Amber 1st choice for bridesmaid's dresses!

On Sunday I joined Loren & Annie for their reception at Lomas Santa Fe C.C., two wonderful families and one great night! It was also one of the best sunsets I've seen in a while...

Best Wishes Tim & Stephanie!

Tim and Stephanie chose Estancia as the location for their ceremony and reception and what a beautiful setting for a wedding. Ana and the team from Floral Works did a great job on the decor, I added some uplighting and a gobo and the La Jolla ballroom was striking. It was a four course meal and that takes a little time but once we got to the dancing the floor was full, I don't think Stephanie ever sat down! The couple did a video montage as well and that is always a crowd favorite. John and Christina Alexanders from San Diego Wedding Candids were the photographers, they are great to work with and the engagement shots were awesome!
