Melissa & Aaron - Paradise Point Resort

Paradise Point is always a great location for a reception and the Sunset Ballroom is my favorite. Aaron and Melissa needed the entire ballroom to make room for the two big families that came together to celebrate the day with the newlyweds. Another fun reception with lots of dancing but one of my favorite moments was when Melissa's dad and three brothers hauled Aaron out to the dance floor, sat him down and then did a routine of the 10 things you never want to say to Melissa...it was funny! I also got to work with my buddy Brant Bender, you should take a look at his new website and blog...some great images.

Doug & Lori Swinehart - Estancia Resort and Spa

Back at Estancia with Doug and Lori for one of my favorite receptions of the year...these guys were fun! They had Peter Pupping who is one of the most amazing Flamenco Guitar players in the country for the ceremony and then I got to party with them the rest of the night. Another incredible job by Kathy Wright on the flowers, I added a little uplighting and the room looked great. One of my favorite all time photographers Desiree made the trip from Ft. Collins Colorado to shoot the wedding and it was great to see her as well...just another day in paradise!

Mike,
Thank you for giving us such a fun wedding reception. We had such a great time and the music was perfect. We had fun working with you and hope to be able to again sometime soon!
Thanks again! Doug & Lori Swinehart

Jeannie & Robert - The Hotel Del Coronado

I'm just getting ready to head out the door for vacation but I wanted to put up this last post. It doesn't get any better than the Hotel Del Coronado, I'm honored to be a preferred vendor at such a classic location. Jeannie and Robert came down from Long Beach to celebrate with friends and family. The ceremony was on the Vista Walk followed by a fun reception in the Coronet Room. The first dance was " I Cross My Heart" by George Straight which is always a favorite and the amazing cake was made by the ladies at "CAKE". Another beautiful day at the Del!!

Amy & Rene - Maderas Country Club

Amy and Rene' chose Maderas Country Club for the ceremony and reception and it's another favorite of mine. It's a beautiful venue, they only do one wedding in a day and Susan and her crew do a great job. This was another fun one complete with Mariachis for the cocktail hour and non stop dancing the whole night. Amy and Rene' were on the floor most of the evening and I feel safe in saying they had a blast. Haydees Creative Flowers did the florals and she always does a great job, my good friend and awesome photographer Joe Stein of Studio Paris kept his new Nikon firing away. He included some of the photos from the ceremony on the video montage and they were amazing. A solid 10 for this night!

Chelsea & Garth - The Sheraton Harbor Island

While Garth and Chelsea live here the majority of the guests came from Canada to celebrate with the couple. If you have ever partied with Canadians you know they like to have fun and this Sunday night reception was no exception...we partied hard right up to midnight! I got to work with one of my favorite coordinators Laura Rizzo, at one of my favorite locations, The Sheraton Harbor Island and with one of my favorite photographers, Stephanie Sundell...needless to say it was a great night! They had the ceremony in the formal gardens at the Marston House in Balboa Park, it was a unique spot and I look forward to going back and checking out the house.

Kendra & Tommy - Estancia Resort La Jolla

What an amazing reception...Trena Lozano and Kathy Wright teamed up on the design of Tommy and Kendra's reception and the Ballroom at Estancia never looked better. They are both in the movie business and had a really interesting and diverse mix of music requests that all came together with a full dance floor. Jason Taylor got it all on video and I can't wait to see the footage. The cake was a Michele Coulon creation and it tasted as good as it looked. They also had a candy bar and that was a big hit as well. A really fun couple and a great team of vendors makes for an awesome reception!!

Mike,
Thank you for making our special day even more amazing! People were dancing that never set foot on a dance floor. Your music mix was perfect and everyone had a blast! We really appreciated your professionalism.
Thanks again! Tommy and Kendra
Dear Mike:
You set the pace for the Hensley/Brown reception from the beginning.
From your organization of the introduction of the newlyweds and the wedding party, through the dinner and into the closing of the evening you were on task.
As one who was not informed on the timeline of events, I was impressed by the flow of the evening. You orchestrated the tone for each event with your use of music.
The importance of your duties did not overshadow the bride and groom; it reflected their personalities and love of music. It is a compliment to you that our dance floor remained full of happy guests celebrating at a memorable reception.
You were there to set the mood, move the evening along and entertain our guests. All of which you did very well. I would not have expected less from someone who had been recommended by Trena. She has impeccable tastes.
It may seem odd but my fondest memory of the evening was the Piano Man dance at the end of the evening. I hold that in my heart. It started with Kendra and Elizabeth dancing; who were then joined by her dad and me. The circle keep growing as did our family, one by one in order; until, spontaneously all friends and family joined to form a large circle in celebration. What an ending or beginning it was!
Thank you for being there for Kendra and Tommy. We enjoyed the evening immensely.

Sincerely,
Barbara Hensley

Aaron & Kim - The Admiral Kidd Club

Kim and Aaron got my name from Patrick and Laura who's wedding I had done about a year ago, they were in attendance and it was great to see them. This wedding was another wild one and Kim and Aaron enjoyed every minute of it. I got to work with Lynn Schuster from Pure Planning and that always makes for a fun day as well!

Teambuilding at the Hilton

This was a team building event for Qualcomm with my good friend Carrie from "Out of the Ordinary" team building adventures. They are great to work with and the crew from Qualcomm had a great day!

Diamond View Tower & Tony Gwinn

If you are looking for an amazing view and an out of the box venue check out the new Diamond View Tower. It's a 15th floor venue with a view of Petco Park that's unbelievable. This was a corporate event for Pay Pal and Tony Gwinn was the guest of honor, always great to have a hall of famer in the house!
